Flatbread Pizzas

Yum... We made flatbread pizzas for dinner last night! This one here has pizza sauce, feta cheese, peppers, and fresh basil leaves all on a piece of crispy sun-dried tomato flatbread.

This one was just pepperoni with shredded fresh basil, pizza sauce, and mozzarella cheese. Also on a piece of sun-dried tomato flatbread.

Here's the pepperoni one on the grill.

We were originally going to make these, but after a little bit of persuasion from me, we ended up making normal pepperoni pizzas.

I guess cooking is a craft so I feel that I have a legit reason to post this on my blog other than to just make people hungry... :)

Scrappy Bag

My cousin was over for our family reunion, and so we decided to undertake the making of a bag....From scraps.....At 10:30 at night....With no pattern. Crazy, right?? Well, after 2 1/2 hours of straight sewing, my back was killing me, my eyes couldn't stay open, but the bag was done!! I even got to try out some of the stitches on my new sewing machine like the applique stitch, and the letter embroidery function.  :)
Sorry about the bad lighting... It was barely morning when I took the picture.

It didn't turn out quite like I wanted, but it still looks good, and my cousin loves it! (Or at least she says she does...)  :)

And we had some fun with the chicken pocket!!

My new (sort of) sewing machine!!

So, I found an ad in the newspaper for a sewing machine that was more than 75% off and was only 5 years old, and in great condition. It has tons of gadgets, it's computerized, has a nifty needle-down button, built-in embroidery (just attach a hoop), and has tons of really cool stitches. It even has a start/stop button like a car! :) It came with about 6 or 7 different feet, which is nice.

One of the best things is that's it's quiet (compared to my old mechanical sewing machine), so now I can sew all through the night!!! :)  All this, and I couldn't resist.  Now that I've got the sewing machine, the next question is: What do I sew??? :)

Colored Pencil Roll

It's 5 days before my friend's birthday, and I actually finished her present early!! I've been eying those colored pencil rolls that people have made on their blog for a while now, and there is, sadly, only a little more than one month until school starts.... A perfect birthday gift for my friend who loves rainbows. (I'm not joking here. She says that her favorite color is Rainbow...)   :)

So, after looking at the pictures, I had an idea of how to make them, and it actually turned out!! (I have a history of not using patterns and having my projects not work out.)

My New Tatoo!! (A half hour after)

(Well, actually it's henna...) I was deciding between a fish, a bumblebee, or this turtle. I love the little turtle! There also was a really cool peacock, but it was out of my budget range... :)

A close-up...

Another view. :)

Sadly, the black "paint" falls off after 6-8 hours. Then it is orange colored, and then turns to a blood red color which looks kind of like-- well blood. : /

I'll post pictures of it tomorrow.. :)

A Submarine Summer

Last week (or was it two weeks ago?), it was my grandpa's, cousin's, and a friend's birthdays. So, I made a swirl cake (chocolate cake and vanilla) for them when we went downstate for the party.
My grandpa likes submarines, therefore the submarine.
My cousin just got a pool, hence the fins/flippers, the beach ball, and the goggles. I didn't really know who the friend was (it was my grandma's friend) so I didn't put anything on the cake for him. The flowers were a nice touch, though. :) Here's some more yummy pictures of my swirl cake.
